Only the other day I found my "Life Member's ticket" dated 21 December 1949 and I remember that this was a Christmas present from my mother who originally joined me in 1930 or '31. At that time I was a very naughty little boy and an unending source of trouble in a light-hearted sort of way to the staff. Their biggest problem was getting me out of the pool as there were so many places for a small boy to run - the high board, the rings, trapeze, parallel bars, cubicles, changing rooms, Russion and Turkish baths, balconies, mysterious empty heavily furnished places upstairs, most of which were forbidden territory to junior membrs and I was ver junior. The whole place was full of fun and wonder. There was always the Hillhead Salon to go to if one had a copper or two to play with which I used to save by running home and not spending the tramcar fare. I wish the Western Baths many more members with as fond memories of the establishment as I have.
